How does it end?
You sit through a lot of
words and moments of grief, and laughter. You want to see how the story ends. I
have gotten through a lot of movies and books recently. I stick it through. I
give it my time for the sole purpose of wanting to know how it ends. And then,
it stops and I still want to know how it ends.
How can that be? Has the
author has run out of words or ideas or maybe run out of paper. The last page
is turned, the film stops and you assume it is the end.
But Whoops, nothing is
resolved. It ends with an unsatisfying bad taste in your mouth. You wait; maybe
you read an epilogue, or sit through movie credits hoping; giving it one last
chance for redemption and a satisfying tag… but NOOOOOO.
What is wrong with the
world of literature? I for one want an ending. With good over evil, truth
instead of lies and hope and love and happiness at the conclusion of a story. As an optimist, and glass half full person. I
don’t want to be around grumpy, nasty complaining people, or I want it now folk.
There is already too much of that in the world
So, give me the end of the
story, please…and make it happy, positive, thoughtful or fun, promise me that… and I’ll suffer through bad
acting, rotten music that does not underscore the film or I’ll read through all
kinds of adjectives if there is an obvious conclusion. The end.
